The National Council is the governing body of the institute, headed by a President. Except for the post of the Immediate Past President, all its members are elected or appointed according to the Constitution of the institute.
Ts. Hj. Ramli completed the professional examination of The Chartered Institute of Transport, United Kingdom in 1977 at the Institute Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam. Later, he received a Bachelor of Law Honours degree from Middlesex University in 1987. He was conferred the Chartered Fellow in 2000. From 1998 t0 2004, he served as the General Manager of Sabah Ports Authority. Upon the privatization of Sabah Ports Authority, he joined Sabah Ports Sdn Bhd as Senior General Manager - which he holds from 2004 to 2006. Hj Ramli also serves as an Advisor to Glenhill Synergy Sdn Bhd - a logistics services provider since 2015. He is a Director at MDS Consultancy Group. He formed CILT Malaysia Sabah Section in 2006 and was its Chairman until June 2019. He was the Deputy President of the CILTM National Council for 3 terms before becoming its President in June 2019.
From 1st January 2020, Ts. Hj. Ramli is the CILT International's International Vice President (South East Asia).
Ts. Dr. Hj. Abdul Kuddus Hj. Ramlee is a Chartered Fellow of the institute. In the national council, Ts. Dr. Hj. Abdul Kuddus is the Chairman of Membership Committee, Chairman of Discipline Committee, Member of Education & CPD Committee, Chairman of CILTM Convocation Committee. He is also the Chief Executive Officer of CILT Venture Sdn Bhd - a commercial arm of the CILT Malaysia.
Throughout his professional careers, he has held top professional positions in many companies, notably PETRONAS - a Malaysian-based Fortune 500 Integrated Oil & Gas Conglomerate - for more than 10 years. His involvement in ASEAN Bintulu Fertilizer as Head of Corporate Affairs has provided him with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel at the top management level. Currently, Ts. Dr. Hj. Abdul Kuddus is actively involved in his personal business in the fields of oil & gas supplies, oil palm plantation, logistics and transportation as well as real estate.

Mohd Nasir Hj. Alias obtained his MSc (Transportation Planning) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2009. His working experiences include as General Manager in UniKL Resources Sdn.Bhd. and few other renown companies such as Mitsubishi. Currently, he serves as a Senior Lecturer in logistics program at UniKL MITEC. In addition, he also holds the post of Director of Teknoputra Division in Universiti Kuala Lumpur (promoting entrepreneurship culture in university). Mohd Nasir recently certified by Ministry of Education as Trainer for entrepreneurship Educator. In July 2019, he was elected as Vice President for Malaysian Professional Centre.
Dr. Nizam holds a Ph.D. in GIS in Traffic Congestion from Manchester Business School, UK and an MBA from Manchester Metropolitan University, UK. He has worked as the Sales Director for Pal Shipping Ltd, Manchester, UK. From 2007 to 2013, Dr. Nizam was the CEO for Glocal Link (M) Sdn Bhd. Currently, he is the Head, Research & Development with Permai Foundation, Kuala Lumpur. Dr Nizam was elected as a Chartered Fellow in 2014.
Dr. Mansor is the Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport Malaysia (CILTM), and a member of the Malaysian Logistics Council (MLC) and Malaysian Institute of Management (MIM). He is a Certified Professional Trainer with Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad (PSMB), Ministry of Human Resource. Dr. Mansor has held strategic and senior management positions with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Perbadanan Nasional Shipping Line Bhd (PNSL), Pacific Basin Shipping Pte Ltd Hong Kong, Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) and Malaysia International Shipping Line Bhd (MISC Bhd). Currently, he teaches at the Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology (NMIT) Malaysia. He holds an MBA and DBA in Shipping Management.

Mej. Logistician Ts. Chang Kah Loon, a professional logistician, graduated with a Master of Science (Supply Chain) from the University of Bolton. Presently, he is the Director of Sea Consortium Sdn Bhd, AK Shipping Sdn Bhd and Chief Executive of AK Academy in Malaysia. He is also currently the Chairman of the CILT Malaysia (Penang Section) and the current President of Pertubuhan Pakar Logistik Malaysia/ the Society of Logisticians Malaysia (LogM). In recognition of his professionalism, dedication and commitment, Logistician Chang has been bestowed as “Ambassador for Peace” by Universal Peace Federation, United Nations (2018).
Last but not least, Logistician Chang has been conferred with the “Pingat Jasa Masyarakat” (PJM) (2007) “Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji” (PKT) (2009), “Pingat Jasa Cemerlang” (PJC) (2017) and “Darjah Johan Negeri” (DJN) (2019).
Dr. Rosni is an Associate Professor at the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu - a maritime-focused university. His research interest is on performance monitoring and development of innovation policy for the maritime, logistics and transport industries. He currently heads the Malaysian Maritime Logistics and Transport Centre (MalTraC) - a research centre to provide key research on maritime transport performance. Dr. Rosni is also the current Chairman of the Terengganu section.
Surendran is currently the General Manager, Malaysian Academy of Supply Chain & Logistics Management (MASLM), a leading Supply Chain Management training institution in Malaysia. Prior to that, he has served in various management roles in both in GLC and MNC companies. Surendran holds a Master of Business Administration and degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) majoring in Production Operation Management from Universiti Utara Malaysia. He is also a Chartered Member of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CMILT) (UK).
In the national council, Surendran also serves as the Chairman of Safety School Project Committee. He is also the current Chairman of Melaka and Negeri Sembilan Section. For his excellent services, Surendran has been awarded the Group CEO Merit Award of Telekom Malaysia Berhad.
Siti Noraishah holds an MBA in Shipping & Logistics from Middlesex University Business School, London. Currently, she is the General Manager for Sabah Ports - a position she holds since 2013. Prior to that, she was the Assistant General Manager (Corporate & Development) for Johor Port Authority from 1997 until 2012. Apart from being the current Chairperson of CILTM Sabah Section, she is also currently the Chairperson of Women in Logistics and Transport (WiLAT) for Sabah Chapters (since 2016). She was also the
Chairperson of the International Association of Port and Harbours (IAPH) Women’s Forum – from 2016 until Jun 2019. Siti Noraishah has presented numerous papers at local and international conferences including at the 3rd WMU International Women’s Conference in Malmo, Sweden.
Dato' Muhammad Muhiyuddin holds an MBA from USA. He is currently the Managing Director of Gabungan Pemborong Bumiputera Perak Berhad and the President of the Perak Malay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. From 2007 - 2009, he was the Chairman of Giat Mara Malaysia. Dato Muhammad Muhiyuddin has also served as the Council Member of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) from 2005 to 2011. Dato Muhammad Muhiyudding is the Founding Chairman of the Perak Section of the CILT Malaysia.
Ts. Dr. Zuraimi is an Associate Professor as well as the Director of the Centre for External Education at Universiti Malaysia Kelantan. He is a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), Member of Malaysia Board of Technologist and Member of Institute of Marketing Malaysia (MIMM). He was appointed as a Council Member, Chairman of Education & CPD Committee and Member of Examination Board of the CILTM National Council. In total, he accumulates over twenty years of professional experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemicals, Maritime Logistics & Supply Chain, Ports and Higher Education.
Commander Logistician Ts Shahrir Hj Ahmad CMILT graduated with a Master of Management Studies (Equipment and Technology) from the University of New South Wales @ Australian Defence Force Academy (2003). He has served the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) since 1980 till 2019. Cdr. Shahrir was appointed to various logistics positions in the RMN and the Malaysian Armed Forces Headquarters. He was involved in the major RMN logistics move from Singapore to Lumut Naval Base in 1984, multi-national operations within the South East Asia region, International Force East Timor (1999 -2000) and United Nations Mission in Liberia (2009-2010). In the National Council, he is the Chairman of Publications and Communications since 2014.
He is also one of the Vice President of the Society of Logisticians, Malaysia since 2016. Currently, Cdr Log Ts Shahrir is actively involved in his personal business in the fields of telecommunications, numismatics, chid motivation as well as cooperative activities.
Dato' Capt Rahim holds a Master Foreign Going Certificate from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia; a Post Graduate Diploma in Ports and Shipping Administration from International Maritime Transport Academy, De Helder, Holland; and an MBA from Ohio State University, USA. He has served as Chief Marine Officer and Assistant General Manager with Klang Port Authority; and as GeneralManager, Penang Port Commission. From 2008 to 2011, Dato' Capt. Rahim was the Special Maritime Advisor to the Ministry of Transport Malaysia. More recently, he was the CEO, Pengerang Marine Operations Sdn. Bhd. (2012-2017) and Director, Port Affairs, Dialog Group Bhd. (2018-2019). Currently, he is the Director of Marine Projects, Kasi Maritime.
Dr Yusoff is currently the President & CEO of the Malaysian Industry-Government Group in High Technology (MIGHT) in the Prime Minister’s Department since 2008. He was a Chartered Institute of Transport (CIT, UK) student in ITM (1982-85) and graduated with an MSc in Transport from the University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (UWIST) in 1987. Consequently, he joined ITM as a lecturer. Dr Yusoff received a commendation letter from the President of CIT International for producing the best Air Transport student for five years in a row. He established and headed the Malaysian Centre for Transport Studies (MACTRANS) in 1992 as a consulting arm of ITM combining 3 schools ie. Engineering, Town Planning and Management. Dr Yusoff was appointed as a special advisor (public transportation) to the Minister of Entrepreneur Development in 1994. He led a group at the Malaysian Industry-Government Group for High Technology (MIGHT) to develop the First National Aerospace Blueprint (1995-2010) and the National Road Haulage Blueprint (1997-2010). Due to his passion for life-long learning, he completed his P.hD under the Faculty of manufacturing engineering, UTEM in 2014. In 2017, he co-founded and made President of the Malaysia Rail Industry Corporation (MARIC) until present. He is also Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and the ASEAN Academy of Engineering and Technology.
Ts Hjh Zawiah Abdul Majid, FCILT is The Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) Women in Logistics & Transport (WiLAT) Regional Vice Chairperson for Southeast Asia of the Global WiLAT Steering Committee (WSC), CILT-Malaysia National Council Member & Chairperson of WiLAT Malaysia and CILT-M committee member of Malaysian Professional Centre. She is currently a Senior Lecturer in Universiti Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT). She also sits on the WG MS2400 Halal Supply Chain Working Group under the Department of Standard Malaysia and the Halal Professional Board (HPB) of JAKIM. Ts. Hjh. Zawiah holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) Logistics & Supply Chain.
Muhammad Zaly Shah obtained his Ph.D. (Transportation Planning) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2002. His working experience includes Sumitomo Electric and Malaysia Airlines. Currently, Dr. Zaly serves as an Associate Professor at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia as well as the Director of the Centre for Innovative Planning and Development (CIPD) - a research centre in UTM. He also sits on the Board of the Johor Public Transport Commission. He was elected a Chartered Fellow in 2017.
Logistician Ts. Ooi Ai Mi is an accounting graduate of the University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD), Swansea, United Kingdom. Known affectionately as Amy Ooi, she has been in the logistics industry since 1995. Presently, Logistician Amy Ooi is the Registrar of AK Academy in Penang - a member of AK Ventures Berhad, a Maritime Logistics Group of Companies in Malaysia. She has been a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) since 2014. She also currently serves as a National Council Member, Treasurer (Penang Section) of the CILT in Malaysia. She has also been the Chairwoman of WiLAT in Malaysia. For her contributions, Logistician Amy Ooi has been conferred “Pingat Jasa Masyarakat” (PJM) (2018) and “Pingat Jasa Terpuji” (PJT) (2019).

Mohd Hizam Hashim is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Business and Management, DRB-HICOM University of Automotive Malaysia (DHU) for the last eight years. He is also the Principle for the University Village hostel’s management and students’ welfare. Hizam was elected as the Chartered Member in 2018. Subsequently, he was elected as a National Council Member effective July 2019. He is also hold a Certified Trainer with HRDF for Supply Chain areas. He has been in the industry for more than 25 years, with vast experience in the field of Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Transportation having served Intel Technology, DHL and GCH Retail (M) Bhd.
